An Electro-technical Officer (ETO) is responsible for operating, maintaining, and fine-tuning all electrical, electronic, and onboard equipment. Their duties extend beyond the engine room, often involving intricate systems across the entire vessel.
This program addresses the increasing demand for specialists in electrical, electronic, and networking systems aboard ships.
The curriculum aligns with the MT 764 BEng in Marine Engineering for the initial two semesters. After the first year, Marine Electrotechnology students focus on specialized electrical and electronic instruction. Alongside classroom learning, hands-on training occurs in diverse workshops and labs to enrich the educational journey. Students apply core theories in practical settings like electrical, electronic, communications, and control laboratories. Comprehensive knowledge of vessels and their systems is developed through electrical workshops and the College's dedicated engine room facility.
