The Postgraduate Diploma in International Business Law provides law graduates with opportunities to advance their legal expertise through comprehensive study of pivotal topics in worldwide commerce. This program offers diverse, stimulating modules with an international perspective, designed to foster analytical skills and deepen specialized knowledge of global business operations.
Instruction occurs through intimate classroom lectures, practical simulations, interactive workshops, and expert-led master classes. Beyond core coursework, the School collaborates with distinguished scholars and legal professionals who conduct specialized seminars across multiple legal disciplines throughout the year.
Our institution maintains collaborative relationships with top-tier international law firms including Matheson and A & L Goodbody. Students may also pursue our postgraduate placement option, granting selected candidates semester-long part-time positions with our partner institutions. These partnerships span numerous public and private sector organizations such as the Irish Council for Civil Liberties, the Irish Penal Reform Trust, Forsa, PrivacyEngine, and Alcohol Action Ireland.
The minimum entry requirement for this programme is a 2:2 overall classification in a level 8 undergraduate degree. This degree must be in law or a cognate discipline in the humanities, or social/political sciences (including but not limited to business, finance, economics, international relations, sociology, etc).
IELTS - 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in each band; TOEFL internet-based test iBT: 90 with no less than 21 in writing and at least 19 in all other sections; Pearson Test of English - 63 with no less than 59 for each item in the Communicative Skills section; Duolingo English Test (DET) - 120 with no less than 110 in literacy, conversation, and comprehension subscores and no less than 95 in production. (This lower production subscore applies to non-EU applicants only), Cambridge Proficiency Cert. - 176+ on Cambridge English scale with no less than 169 in each skill and use of English. Proficiency Certificate, Grade C or better (CEFR Level C1 or C2); Cambridge Advanced Cert. - 176+ on Cambridge English scale with no less than 169 in each skill and use of English Advanced Certificate, Grade C or better (CEFR Level C1 or C2); ETAPP - C1 or better (CEFR Level C1 or C2); Oxford Test of English - 140 with no less than 125 in each skill; Trinity College London ISE - ISE III with at least merit in each skill category.
