The Master of Science in IT-Enabled Innovation is designed for graduates from all academic backgrounds seeking careers in digital transformation across private, public, and other economic sectors. This program leverages the educational assets of the School of Business and the research insights from the Innovation Value Institute (IVI) - a university-based research center - to address the growing demand for education in managing both traditional IT systems and emerging digital technologies. Through extensive collaboration with industry leaders in Ireland and internationally, IVI has developed deep expertise in identifying and addressing the key management and governance challenges in today's digital landscape. The program's foundational philosophy recognizes that modern work practices, organizational processes, and both internal and external business relationships are fundamentally integrated with IT and digital solutions. This approach highlights the interconnected nature of systems, their dependencies, and the operational environment. From this socio-technical perspective, business operations and information technology are inseparable, with IT-supported workflows and processes considered as unified systems.
The programme assumes no prior knowledge of IT, business or management topics, but does assume the capacity for study and rapid development associated with an honour’s degree graduate. Candidates should have a minimum 2.2 grade, honour's (level 8) degree.
In exceptional circumstances, consideration will be given to candidates who do not hold a primary degree, but who do have significant relevant work experience at least 3 of which must be in a management position.
