DCU's Master of Arts in Journalism offers students the chance to learn at Ireland's premier journalism and media institution, ranked among the world's top 200 programs. Your instructors are engaged in cutting-edge research, integrating their findings directly into classroom instruction. As part of the School of Communications, you'll learn from specialists covering political journalism, climate reporting, data journalism, gender studies in media, and journalism history. Beyond gaining contemporary perspectives on journalism's evolving role, you'll develop hands-on abilities in news writing, multimedia production, mobile journalism (MoJo), and publication design. Instruction occurs in advanced Mac laboratories, professional radio facilities, and a fully-equipped television studio. You'll collaborate with seasoned media professionals throughout the program and complete a six-week internship with a leading media outlet. Graduates join an influential alumni network featuring prominent figures in Irish media. This degree prepares you for immediate newsroom employment while also opening doors to careers in policy development, public relations, content strategy, nonprofit communications, broadcasting, and government affairs.
