The Economics major is well-positioned in an ever-changing world. Students in the Economics major are introduced to the basic structure, theories, processes, and policies of economics. This introduction helps them learn how to make sound financial decisions, manage their personal finances, and better implement monetary policies for the benefit of society. Students will also gain the ability to understand complex and important issues, such as natural resources, tax rates, inflation, labor, etc., and build a sound investment portfolio. Graduates of the program may choose to continue their education at the master's level or embark on careers at international financial centers.
The B.S. Economics program introduces students to economic theories and applications, providing a comprehensive understanding of market mechanisms and the latest studies in economics. The curriculum follows best practices from U.S. universities. Students are particularly offered business analytics courses such as Python Programming and Data Mining in business, aligning with the current trends in economic research in the era of big data. Students will develop skills to analyze practical business problems, putting them in a good position for graduate school.
Qualified students who successfully complete the program requirements will be awarded degrees from both Wenzhou-Kean University (China) and Kean University (USA).
Eligible students may elect to study at Kean University in New Jersey starting from their second semester or any subsequent semester, during which they will be eligible for in-state tuition rates at Kean University.
Structure
Core Courses
an Australian Year 12 qualification in or outside Australia
an International Baccalaureate, or
a New Zealand National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Level 3
Academic IELTS- 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0, or TOEFL- paper based- 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based- 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21, or AE5- Pass, or C1A/C2P- 176-184 with a writing score of 169.
Accommodation: RMB 8,300 – RMB 10,000 (~USD 1,119 – USD 1,399) per academic year (based on 10 months).
Freshmen Scholarship
1. First-Class Scholarship: 60% reduction of the academic year's tuition fees.
2. Second-Class Scholarship: 30% reduction of the academic year's tuition fees.
The freshman scholarship is renewed annually for the duration of the four-year program, subject to an annual review. The renewal policy and relevant notifications will be communicated to applicants via email.

6. Standardized Test Scores (Optional): Such as SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP, IB, or UEC scores, if you wish to submit them.
7. English Proficiency Proof: Required for non-native English applicants.
8. For Transfer Students Only: An official transcript evaluation from a NACES-approved service (e.g. WES).
9. For Design Program Applicants Only: A portfolio (10–12 pieces of work)
