The one-year Master of Arts program provides students with instruction in socio-legal theory and methodologies, along with a mandatory Major Research Paper. York University's PhD in Socio-Legal Studies leads the way among emerging interdisciplinary legal studies graduate programs across Europe and North America. As Canada's first doctoral program of its kind outside a law school, our PhD attracts students to work alongside faculty dedicated to rigorous research and academic excellence.
