The Philosophy Graduate Program provides comprehensive education for MA students aiming to enter PhD programs, while helping doctoral candidates build their academic research portfolios. Our curriculum focuses on several key disciplines: (i) moral philosophy, political theory, and legal philosophy; (ii) cognitive science, philosophy of mind, and language studies; (iii) 19th and 20th century philosophical history; and (iv) scientific philosophy and theory of knowledge.
We incorporate both classical and cross-disciplinary methodologies, spanning empirical, theoretical, and practical applications. Our faculty regularly collaborate with scholars across multiple fields such as legal studies, psychological science, brain research, and medical ethics. Students can enhance their studies through specialized graduate certificates, including options in Ethical Theory and Practical Morality or the Neuroscience Certification Program.
Full-time MA students typically fulfill all degree requirements within one academic year (three semesters).
