The Civil Engineering Graduate Program provides thesis-focused MASc and PhD degrees with specialization options across multiple sub-disciplines, including Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, GeoEnvironmental and Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, and Transportation Engineering.
Addressing worldwide population expansion, significant climate variations, and their impacts, the Civil Engineering graduate curriculum prioritizes sustainable solutions. This includes employing recycled and eco-friendly building materials, restoring landscapes, and utilizing challenging terrains like abandoned landfills and thawing permafrost regions. The program also focuses on developing resilient infrastructure designs to endure severe weather events, along with upgrading or replacing aging structures through strategic renovations.
You can apply to our graduate programs if you hold an Honours degree (four years of study) or equivalent from a recognized postsecondary institution. Recommended overall grade point averages (GPA) vary by program, but will be a “B” at minimum.
