Over the last ten years, neuroscience—the interdisciplinary exploration of the nervous system—has emerged as one of science's fastest-growing domains. Acknowledging York University's significant advancements in neuroscience faculty, facilities, and research, the institution now provides a graduate-level Neuroscience diploma. This field spans from investigating molecular and cellular processes within neurons to analyzing complete organism behavior. York boasts over 25 neuroscience faculty members utilizing varied methodologies such as computational modeling, brain imaging (fMRI, PET, MEG), neurophysiological studies with animals, psychophysical experiments, movement analysis, transcranial magnetic stimulation, and molecular/cellular approaches. Students may also pursue collaborative projects with hospitals and universities both locally and abroad.
