Psychology focuses on scientifically examining behavior, encompassing thoughts, emotions, and actions through social, developmental, and biological lenses. Our program stands out as Canada's most diverse, covering nearly every psychology discipline. Students gain research experience across multiple fields like developmental and social psychology, abnormal psychology and counseling, behavioral and cognitive neuroscience, historical theories, statistical methods, and quantitative analysis. The curriculum explores numerous subjects including personality traits, memory systems, learning processes, intelligence measures, motivational factors, psychological conditions, neurobiological foundations of behavior, bullying dynamics, sensory perception, perfectionism studies, empathy research, cognitive functions, cultural influences, childhood development, and many other fascinating topics.
Both the BSc and BA degrees share identical core psychology coursework. The key distinction lies in the BSc program's additional mathematics, science, and computer science prerequisites beyond psychology classes, whereas BA students have no such requirements. Consequently, BA students often enjoy greater flexibility to pursue elective courses in humanities or social sciences during their studies.
