The Mathematics program immerses students in the elegance of mathematical thinking through abstract concepts and logical reasoning. While emphasizing pure mathematics' intellectual depth, the curriculum also equips learners with valuable skills for careers requiring mathematical proficiency. Our program explores fundamental principles that underpin real-world applications in fields like cryptography, computer science, physics, economics, artificial intelligence, financial modeling, and beyond. It also serves as strong preparation for advanced academic pursuits.
Students explore diverse areas of pure mathematics and have opportunities to collaborate with faculty on research projects covering subjects such as:
Algebraic combinatorics, employing visual representations to solve complex computational problems;
Number theory, featuring ancient yet unsolved mathematical puzzles with simple formulations;
Analysis, providing the theoretical framework for modeling dynamic systems;
Probability theory, examining random phenomena with applications across scientific, financial, and risk assessment fields; and
Mathematical Foundations (including set theory), establishing the logical underpinnings for all scientific and engineering disciplines, often providing solutions when other approaches fail.
