In the Visual Arts - Studio (BFA) program, students begin with a foundational studio course during their initial term, familiarizing them with art studios, faculty, and diverse production techniques encompassing both 2D and 3D aspects of temporal art. A set theme serves as a springboard for research, ideation, and mastering core techniques to bring artistic visions to life.
Following a shared first-year curriculum, students select one or more visual arts specializations. During their final year, seniors undertake a culminating studio course that fosters independent artistic development, enhancing their creative, theoretical, and technical abilities within a chosen medium while embracing interdisciplinary approaches. Throughout the program, students cultivate a self-driven, unified portfolio while exploring relationships between their work and contemporary art discourse.
Students need to have: Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD); Six 4U/4M courses, including ENG4U, NBE4U or FRA4U. Students from other countries should have country specific requirements equivalent to Canada.
