The Gender and Women’s Studies Program teaches you to examine how gender intersects with race, class, age, ability, and sexuality across various aspects of life—from popular culture and daily experiences to art, science, law, politics, economies, and global societies.
For over 30 years, our renowned faculty have pioneered research on women and gender in Canada and worldwide. Through thought-provoking courses, we examine feminism's relationship with race, sexuality, indigeneity, class, and ability. Discover how food systems expose neoliberal power structures, learn activism as a tool against systemic violence, and investigate pressing topics like COVID-19's disproportionate effects on BIPOC communities globally—questioning how gender norms and whiteness shape these outcomes.
