The Lazaridis School of Business and Economics' Graduate Diploma in Accounting expands on your undergraduate accounting education, offering a clear and thorough route for students pursuing the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) certification.
This intensive 12-week program, available each summer and fall semester, deepens your understanding of key CPA competencies including financial reporting, taxation, auditing, professional ethics, and analytical skills while readying you for the Common Final Examination (CFE). Graduates advance directly to Capstone 1 of the CPA's Professional Education Program (PEP), skipping the initial four PEP modules.

Qualification Requirements

Admission to the Graduate Diploma in Accounting for Laurier students requires:
Admission to the graduate diploma in accounting is normally* restricted to graduates of undergraduate programs in the Lazaridis School of Business & Economics,
Completion of all prerequisites for courses in the graduate diploma (completed or in the final stages of completion with a minimum grade of C- in each course), and
A minimum required average in business-related courses of B-.
An application for admission to our Graduate Diploma in Accounting program must include:

The Application Summary, which is generated after you complete your OUAC application (log back in to OUAC to retrieve it).
Transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work. Documents must be dated within the past six months.
Resum
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL):
TOEFL iBT/TOEFL iBT Home Edition: minimum score of 83, with minimum skill scores of 20 in each of the skills tests (speaking, writing, reading and listening).
Paper-based TOEFL: minimum of 560.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS, IELTS Online): academic minimum score of 6.5 with no band score below 6.0.
