Develop a global perspective and cross-cultural competencies while exploring educational theories and teaching methods for international environments. This distinctive program blends academic coursework with practical experience through an interdisciplinary curriculum that merges requirements from both the Faculty of Education and Faculty of Arts.

International Education Studies can serve as a stepping stone to a Bachelor of Education program and teaching opportunities in Canada or overseas. Alternatively, it provides preparation for education-focused careers in diverse fields such as global development, migration and refugee studies, or human rights advocacy. Regardless of your professional direction, you'll gain the skills to succeed in today's interconnected global society.
As Canada's inaugural program of its kind, Laurier's Bachelor of Arts in International Education Studies represents a partnership between the Faculty of Education and the Department of Global Studies within the Faculty of Arts.

Through Faculty of Education courses, you'll acquire expertise in lesson design, curriculum interpretation, student engagement strategies, and inclusive teaching practices. The program also covers foundational knowledge in language instruction, adult education, mathematics pedagogy, and international curriculum frameworks. Many courses adopt an intercultural or global perspective on teaching, frequently addressing equity and social justice considerations.
