Biochemistry explores living organisms at the molecular scale. Our MSc candidates conduct research across multiple related disciplines focused on comprehending and combating human illnesses while enhancing health and quality of life.
Some research teams investigate human genetics, genome behavior, epigenetic modifications, and gene expression control, particularly RNA's regulatory functions. Additional groups concentrate on protein architecture and activity, proteomic studies, and intracellular communication. Digital methods and bioinformatics are progressively merging with biochemical investigations. Emerging technologies facilitate biological system engineering for scientific inquiry and industrial applications, marking the dawn of synthetic biology - an innovative field encompassing genome modification and construction, genetic code augmentation, novel metabolic route development, and even artificial organism design.
