The Department of Medical Biophysics collaborates extensively with various university departments, research centers, and healthcare facilities across London to provide exceptional graduate education in multiple disciplines such as: cardiovascular disorders, microvascular studies, blood flow dynamics, biomechanical systems, and oncology research. Our department maintains a strong focus on biomedical imaging technologies (including CT, MRI, MRS, ultrasound, SPECT, PET-CT, PET-MRI, optical, and photoacoustic methods), conducting intensive investigations at cellular, animal model, preclinical, and clinical levels. This research environment enables students to utilize cutting-edge technology while integrating computational and laboratory approaches.
Collectively, our students' research yields significant contributions across physical sciences, biological research, and clinical applications. Graduates typically secure fulfilling positions in healthcare, biomedical technology, or academic institutions, while some choose to advance their education through professional programs in medicine, dentistry, or business administration.
