Western University structures its undergraduate programs using a modular system. The mathematics department offers diverse modules tailored to different academic and professional goals. Prospective students should reach out to us or attend math department info sessions during the February-March registration period each year.
We strongly recommend that undergraduates collaborate with professors via research initiatives, the Mathematics Scholars Group, and pizza seminars. Our faculty has a proven track record of mentoring students in scholars electives and welcomes new participants. All undergrads are invited to join MaCAW (the mathematics student association).
Details regarding NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRA) are available online.
Since 2022, the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences has consistently supplied the Faculty of Education with program graduates. Candidates must finish their studies by August 31 of their intended B.Ed. start year and have completed 10 full university courses when applying. Priority goes to those with four-year degrees or 20 completed courses, maintaining at least a 70% average in their top 10 undergraduate courses and a 70% average in their best 5 math/statistics courses.
