The Department of Mathematics and Statistics provides top-tier undergraduate and graduate programs in a nurturing setting. Our faculty's research achievements and teaching expertise make us an ideal choice for your degree. At the undergraduate level, we offer Bachelor of Mathematics degrees in pure mathematics or combined mathematics and statistics. We provide joint programs with Computer Science and the Odette School of Business, concurrent degrees with the Faculty of Education, and the option to double major with nearly any other university program. For those who enjoy mathematics but don't seek a full degree, we offer Minors in Mathematics and Statistics. If actuarial science is your career goal, our program is the perfect fit—we've trained numerous successful actuaries who frequently return to recruit new talent. At the graduate level, we offer master's and PhD programs in mathematics and statistics, along with a professional Master's in Actuarial Science.

MIN. AVG.* 70% ONTARIO COURSE REQUIREMENTS ENG4U, MHF4U, and MCV4U required. A minimum 70% grade in all Grade 12 math courses is also required.
English Language Proficiency Requirement: Minimum score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); Minimum score of 60 on the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE); minimum overall score of 176 on the Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or the Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE); minimum score of 85 on the English Proficiency Test administered by the English Language Institute of the University of Michigan (MELAB); minimum score of 220 with a T.W.E. 4.5 on the Computer-based Test, 83 with an essay score of 20 on the Internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL); minimum score of 60 on the Carleton University’s Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL).
