Data science involves creating and implementing techniques to examine, refine, organize, convert, visualize, and analyze data to uncover valuable insights, draw meaningful conclusions, and aid in decision-making processes. This field naturally bridges multiple disciplines, primarily drawing from Computer Science and Statistical Science.
To qualify, students must successfully complete first-year requirements without any failed courses. They need to maintain a minimum 70% average across 3.0 core courses, which must include (Calculus 1000AB or Calculus 1500AB) and (Calculus 1501AB or (Calculus 1301AB with a minimum grade of 85%)), Mathematics 1600AB, Computer Science 1026AB or Data Science 1200AB (both requiring at least 65%), Computer Science 1027AB (with a minimum 65% grade) plus 0.5 additional core courses, ensuring no grade falls below 60% in any of the 3.0 principal courses.
Entry requirements may vary from country to country. Students are required to complete international academic qualification equivalent to Canadian secondary school.
English Language Proficiency Requirements:
IELTS: A minimum overall band score of 6.5 is required with no part less than 6.0; TOEFL: A minimum overall score of 83 on the internet-based test with no section score below 20, and 550 on the paper-based test with a 5 on the TWE; Can TEST: A minimum overall score of 4.0 is required with no part less than 4.0; CAEL: A minimum overall score of 60 is required with no part less than 60; MELAB: A minimum overall score of 80 is required with no score less than 78; Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic): A minimum overall score of 58 is required with no score less than 56.
