The Bachelor of Medical Sciences (BMSc) program is a four-year undergraduate degree jointly provided by the Faculty of Science and the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. This specialized program caters to students pursuing in-depth knowledge in fundamental medical sciences, concentrating on biological factors that shape and affect human health.
Biochemistry examines molecular structures and processes within living systems. This field investigates the architecture and roles of vital biomolecules (including proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, and nucleic acids) that enable organismal growth and development. Analyzing biological systems enhances our comprehension of illnesses and pathways to improved wellbeing.
Biochemistry focuses on life's essential molecular components and processes. Through this curriculum, students explore genome, gene, and protein structures, cellular molecular constituents, regulatory mechanisms governing gene expression and protein activity, and how understanding disease at the molecular level can inform therapeutic interventions.
