Theatre Studies is an interdisciplinary liberal arts program combining classroom lectures, seminars, and collaborative courses with professional theater companies. Students benefit from small class sizes for lectures and seminars, hands-on workshops, and educational field trips. Course discussions explore contemporary social and cultural themes in theater and performance, such as representations of gender, sexuality, race, and ethnicity. Practical studio courses offered in partnership with Canada's Stratford Festival, along with our second-year Fall Production class, appeal to those pursuing theater careers, drama education credentials, or advanced studies in performance. A standout feature is our Destination Theatre capstone, where students travel to London or New York for a two-week immersive program featuring theater performances, expert-led workshops, theatrical walking tours, and other enriching experiences.
