Elevate your fitness enthusiasm through VIU's Physical Education Diploma program. This dynamic program combines interactive teaching with practical experience, equipping you for careers in health, wellness, fitness, and athletic performance. Graduates can pursue opportunities in municipal recreation programs and various sports organizations. To enroll in the Physical Education Diploma, applicants must first apply to the Bachelor of Kinesiology. After successfully completing the initial two years (60 credits) of the bachelor's program, students qualify for the Physical Education Diploma.
The diploma represents the foundational two years of the Bachelor of Kinesiology degree. It prepares graduates for positions in the fitness sector, community recreation programs, and sports-related fields.
To earn the diploma, students must complete 60 credit hours with at least a 2.0 ("C") GPA. Those with transfer credits need to complete a minimum of 30 credit hours at VIU while maintaining the same GPA standard. Note that acceptance into the Bachelor of Kinesiology doesn't ensure access to all required courses. For additional details, reach out to the Kinesiology Department.
