Kinesiology combines the study and practice of human movement, with VIU's program serving as a springboard for various professions including teaching, research, rehabilitation fields (such as occupational therapy, physical therapy, and massage therapy), athletic coaching, fitness instruction, sports administration, and more.
This program equips students with both theoretical understanding and practical skills for careers in educational settings, wellness program coordination, movement studies, outdoor education, rehabilitation services, athletic coaching, performance training, and sports management. Participants will investigate human motion principles and acquire crucial abilities to enhance wellbeing through physical activity. The curriculum offers comprehensive kinesiology fundamentals while immersing students in varied educational settings and hands-on opportunities, including classroom instruction, laboratory work, physical activity courses, digital learning platforms, and practical research projects.
To meet the English language requirements for academic program, students must have completed:
VIU English Language Centre's - Successful completion of University Preparation Level 5
International Baccalaureate English A1/A2 - Higher Level (HL)/ Standard Level (SL) grade 3 or higher
IELTS 6.5 (with no band under 6.0)
TOEFL 550 (with no section under 56)
TOEFL iBT 88 (with no section under 20)
Pearson (PTE) 60 no section below 60
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English with a minimum Cambridge English Score of 176.
Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English with a minimum Cambridge English Score of 176.
