Geography explores Earth's surface through two primary lenses: analyzing interactions among natural environmental components like climate, vegetation, soil, and terrain; and investigating human population patterns and behaviors influenced by social and environmental conditions. Systematic geographic research focuses on the positioning, spread, organization, and connections of related features, while regional studies analyze all geographic aspects within specific locations. Regardless of methodology, certain specialized geographic skills and techniques remain essential.
To accommodate Geography's diverse nature and unique skill requirements, the Department provides coursework across three disciplines: Cultural Geography, Physical Geography, and Geomatics
