It encompasses everything from the initial shaping of Earth's terrain to humanity's environmental impacts throughout history and into tomorrow. This program equips students with analytical skills to examine how all living beings and natural systems interconnect across our planet—and occasionally in space—to solve practical challenges.
Our department excels in geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, hydrology studies, and urban/rural research—fields experiencing remarkable expansion in academic inquiry, education, and career opportunities for alumni.

The Alberta Water and Environmental Science Building offers advanced resources, enabling our distinguished faculty—your educators—to conduct groundbreaking research on topics ranging from atmospheric conditions and aquatic systems to ice formations, soil deposits, flora, and insect populations.
