The University of Winnipeg's Education program combines academic theory with hands-on classroom experience to equip future teachers for their careers. Education students explore diverse subjects including history, philosophy, biology, sociology, and psychology while also studying curriculum design and teaching methods. What sets this program apart are two key features: its emphasis on urban inner-city education alongside standard teacher certification, and early practical experience in real classrooms with teachers and students.
Through the Integrated BEdBA, BSc, or BPHE options, students can pursue dual degrees simultaneously. This pathway enables those committed to teaching early in their academic journey to start Education coursework within their initial two university years. The 150-credit program typically spans five years, with most students beginning in their first year. The program also accommodates transfer students who have already completed coursework toward another Bachelor's degree.
