The Sociology Department provides undergraduate programs including 3-year BA, 4-year BA, and Honours degrees, along with a Minor option and Research Methods Certificate. Students from other disciplines can take Sociology as an elective. Sociology courses pair well with fields like Political Science, History, Psychology, Education, Criminal Justice, Women's and Gender Studies, and Environmental Studies. Several interdisciplinary programs also incorporate Sociology courses into their curriculum.
Earning a Sociology degree opens doors to diverse career paths in social services, criminal justice, public administration, media, aging studies, city development, and labor relations. Many provincial and federal government positions seek candidates with Sociology training. For those pursuing advanced studies, opportunities exist in academic teaching and research careers.
