Established in 1970, the Environmental Studies Program pioneered as one of Canada's earliest interdisciplinary undergraduate environment initiatives and among the first globally. Over the past fifty years, the program has significantly expanded its scope, now offering students seven distinct degree pathways.
The University of Winnipeg's Environmental Studies BA and Environmental Science BSc programs have earned accreditation from both the Canadian Environmental Accreditation Commission (CEAC) and ECO Canada. Notably, the Environmental Studies BA degrees were Manitoba's first to receive this recognition. This dual accreditation for both bachelor's programs assures students, families, educators, and employers that our degrees adhere to rigorous national standards.
