The School of the Environment provides graduate-level Earth Sciences programs (M.Sc. and Ph.D.) focused on research, backed by dedicated faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, and collaborative partnerships including the Great Lakes Institute for Environmental Research (GLIER).

The normal requirement for entry into the Ph.D. program shall be an MSc. in Earth Sciences or an appropriate degree in a cognate discipline. Students who have enrolled in the MSc. program may apply to transfer to the Ph.D. program after one year of registration, and must have achieved a minimum 80% average in course work and have a strong recommendation from their thesis committee.
Minimum TOEFL: IBT-83; Minimum IELTS: 6.5; Minimum Pearson: 65.
