The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences encompasses diverse research fields, from hydrogeochemistry to geophysical studies. Our comprehensive curriculum, extensive graduate offerings, and challenging coursework establish us as a leading Earth Science institution nationally. The University of Waterloo's Earth and Environmental Science program has gained global recognition for its exceptional research contributions. Studies concentrate on analyzing geological and hydrogeological phenomena, characterizing contemporary and historical geological settings, and examining how these systems respond to anthropogenic impacts.
