The Department of Geological Sciences and Geological Engineering offers graduate-level education and research programs in Earth Sciences. Our faculty's expertise covers diverse areas including geology, geochemistry, and geoengineering, frequently through interdisciplinary approaches with practical applications to economic and environmental challenges. Applicants must have degrees in Geological Sciences or Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering or Civil Engineering are acceptable. Degrees in related fields such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Sciences or Geography are seriously considered, however students will be required to take additional Geology courses. We consider your work over the last 4 years with emphasis on the last 2 years of schooling.
English language requirements
Applicants must have TOEFL Internet-based Test (TOEFL iBT): The minimum overall score is 88, made up of the minimum scores in each component test as follows: Writing test: 24/30; Speaking test: 22/30; Reading test: 22/30; Listening test: 20/30; MELAB: 80 (minimum overall score); IELTS: 7 (minimum score, academic module); PTE Academic: 65 (minimum overall score).
