The Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science ranks among the world's leading institutions for statistical and actuarial studies, with over 50 full-time faculty members engaged in varied and dynamic research fields. Our academic offerings include undergraduate, master's, and PhD programs in Statistics and Actuarial Science, along with multiple collaborative degree options with other departments. We foster an energetic research atmosphere spanning fundamental statistics, longitudinal data analysis, computational methods, financial modeling, risk assessment, survey techniques, industrial applications, and interdisciplinary projects. The department maintains strong ties with campus research centers such as WatRISQ, BISRG, PROPEL, CCMIC, and SRC. Our student body comprises more than 1,000 undergraduates and approximately 175 graduate students enrolled in programs like Actuarial Science, Biostatistics, Quantitative Finance, and Statistics-Computing.
