At the heart of the SERS community lie graduate students and their research endeavors. Whether embarking on a master's or doctoral journey, you'll become part of a vibrant, dedicated community. SERS currently hosts approximately 120 graduate students across our Master of Environmental Studies (MES) and PhD programs, focusing on social and ecological sustainability. Our students consistently secure provincial and national research grants while earning recognition for their impactful work. SERS faculty members are globally renowned researchers who contribute to numerous local, national, and international sustainability organizations. Upon completing your graduate studies, you'll join our extensive network of accomplished alumni who are making meaningful contributions to environmental and sustainability initiatives across government, academia, civil society, and private sectors. All admitted students in our MES-thesis and PhD programs receive guaranteed financial support through teaching or research assistantships, stipends, with additional scholarship opportunities available for eligible candidates.
