The Biology Department provides graduate programs leading to M.Sc. (Master of Science) and Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) degrees, both requiring thesis work and coursework.
Students typically choose courses from Biology offerings, though they may select relevant courses from any university department or institution, subject to approval by their advisory committee. A minimum of two courses must be selected from the Biology Department's catalog.
Every graduate student must complete the Graduate Academic Integrity Module, an online course to be finished within the initial 8 weeks of their first semester. This requirement appears on academic transcripts. The Integrity Office will notify students about completing this module, which differs from the mandatory Academic Integrity Workshop.
