Social Development Studies employs a multidisciplinary perspective to examine human experiences in connection with societal challenges across local, national, and worldwide settings. This forward-thinking program features coursework in personal and societal growth, encompassing psychology, sociology, and social services. The program cultivates abilities in analytical reasoning, solution-finding, relationship-building, guidance, along with community and worldwide participation. The different study paths create a strong basis for advanced education, specialized training, and vocations in people-focused and civic-oriented fields. Investigate how human connections are shaped by personal, group, and systemic factors including psychological well-being, social bonds, financial circumstances, learning systems, governance, and campaigns for fairness and societal transformation. A shared aspiration among Social Development Studies scholars is to support individuals, groups, and countries in thriving. With instruction in subjects like psychology, sociology, and social services complemented by practical community involvement experiences, you'll gain thorough preparation for rewarding professions in social services, therapy, instruction, government roles, personnel management, legal fields, or local and global nonprofit work. You can further enrich your educational journey by participating in cooperative education, translating classroom knowledge into practical workplace applications.

The Diversity and Equity Specialization enables learners to focus their studies on inclusion, fairness, and social progress, with this emphasis formally recognized on academic records. This option caters to students keen on critically examining influence and advantage concerning different aspects of human variation (including ethnicity, belief systems, gender identity, sexual orientation, accessibility needs, etc.), equipping them to effectively engage with diverse populations both in Canada and abroad.
