Liberal Studies offers this flexibility. Often referred to as liberal arts programs elsewhere, Liberal Studies enables you to investigate numerous disciplines across humanities, social sciences, languages and cultures, and creative arts – along with courses you can select from Waterloo's other faculties. You can specialize your degree with one or more minors, or maintain a broad, general approach. (If you develop a deep passion for a particular subject, you can always transition to a major later.) Academic advisors are available to assist with degree planning and course selection. Enhance your education further through Waterloo's EDGE (experiential learning) certificate, Global Experience Certificate programs, or by combining Liberal Studies with an Honours Arts and Business degree.
