The Gender and Social Justice program educates students on social justice issues, focusing especially on gender's influence. Participants develop practical skills in applying intersectional feminist principles to foster fair, inclusive, and sustainable communities both locally and worldwide. Whether pursuing a major, minor, or elective courses, students will discover our curriculum to be current, approachable, meaningful, diverse, and full of unexpected insights. The coursework aims to foster understanding of marginalized groups affected by factors like gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, ability, and socioeconomic status. Beyond awareness, students will employ intersectional feminist theory to critically examine social structures and cultural representations. Investigate how gender influences societal norms. Become a champion for fairness, equality, and meaningful transformation. Understand the significant impact of gender across all life domains. Throughout the program, you'll cultivate specialized knowledge in gender studies, diversity, equity, and social justice advocacy. You'll become part of a vibrant community of learners actively involved in student organizations, departmental activities, campus life, and local initiatives like the Women's Centre and The Glow Centre for Sexual and Gender Diversity.
