The Honours Visual Culture program explores the significant impact of visual culture on society and cultural development. This interdisciplinary curriculum emphasizes the historical and theoretical study of visual culture while acknowledging its expanding global reach and varied audience perspectives. The program features a core sequence of five visual culture courses, starting with foundational classes that examine art and film through the lens of visual perception (how we interpret our surroundings). Those pursuing the Honours Fine Arts – Visual Culture degree can further enrich their studies by taking an additional advanced course (VCULT 401) during their final year, extending their thesis research.
