The Three-Year General degree program offers a structured curriculum to establish your foundation in English studies. This three-year option allows you to specialize in one of our four department majors: Literature, Rhetoric, Media and Professional Communication, Literature and Rhetoric, or Creative and Professional Writing.
Throughout your coursework, you'll explore diverse national and historical literary traditions, spanning British, postcolonial, Canadian, and American works, while also engaging with subjects like rhetoric, digital media, professional writing, information design, and more.
Your English Language and Literature classes will provide profound understanding of our society, cultural identity, compelling ideas and themes, and the relationship between contemporary and historical contexts. Upon completion, you'll possess both the comprehensive knowledge and specialized expertise of a complete liberal arts education.
