This Master of Education cohort brings together seasoned educators for a two-year interdisciplinary graduate program.
Coursework emphasizes contemporary challenges and developments in early childhood education, exploring various theoretical frameworks that inform the field.
Through this project-oriented program, veteran teachers gain a collaborative platform to examine pressing topics in early childhood education while engaging with foundational theories and practices. Participants will culminate their studies by creating a unique capstone project aligned with their specialized interests in early childhood education.
Program participants will:
gain expertise in foundational early childhood theories and field challenges
learn to implement truth and reconciliation initiatives in age-appropriate, emotionally-sensitive ways for young learners, develop awareness of children's global rights and international perspectives
understand the multifaceted identities of young children, explore diverse modes of childhood communication and self-expression
The Department of Curriculum & Instruction provides graduate studies at both Master's and Doctoral levels, offering flexible full-time and part-time options on campus and in community settings. With 28 dedicated faculty members, we provide exceptional research and teaching assistantships alongside renowned scholars.
Our MA and PhD programs concentrate on educational research, delivering core coursework that prepares students to specialize in specific research areas. Due to limited supervisory capacity, prospective students should consult with the Graduate Advisor or Secretary regarding faculty availability.
