Social science examines human society and interpersonal connections through a scientific lens. Investigate political instability, ecological shifts, socioeconomic disparities, and other factors deeply impacting human existence. Engaging with social sciences sparks creativity to envision alternative futures while equipping you with tools to tackle urgent societal issues. All applicants entering the Faculty of Social Sciences begin as Undeclared students, allowing them to sample diverse courses before selecting their specialization after one or more years of full-time academic exploration.

completion of four years of full-time academic studies in which all language of instruction is English, at a high school or post-secondary institution in a recognized English-speaking country
High school diploma or equivalent (academic stream) with high-level results / minimum GPA 3.0 or equivalent
completion of Grade 12 English or its equivalent in Canada with a final grade of 86% or higher within the last three years prior to admission
a score of 86% or higher on the BC Provincial Grade 12 English Examination within the last three years prior to admission
a score of 4 or higher on the Advanced Placement Exam in English Language and Composition
a score of 4 or higher on IB Higher Level English A
