The Master of Arts (MA) in Theological Studies is a full-time research-based graduate program designed to equip students with critical analysis capabilities, rigorous methodologies, and foundational knowledge for conducting cutting-edge research in their chosen specialization. This MA degree is jointly awarded by the University of Toronto and the student's registered college. Among TST's seven member institutions, six participate in this joint MA program (with St. Augustine's Seminary focusing solely on basic degree programs). Qualification Requirements
For admission to the MA program, an applicant is normally required to have a bachelors degree in theology, or a major or specialist in theology or religious studies, or equivalent, from a recognized degree granting institution*, with at least B+ (3.3/4.0 CGPA) standing (or equivalent).
Alternatively, an applicant may present a second-entry degree in theological studies, such as a Master of Divinity (MDiv), or Master of Theological Studies (MTS), representing at least two years of full-time studies or equivalent past an undergraduate bachelors degree, with a minimum of a B+ (3.3/4.0 CGPA) standing (or equivalent).
TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT): 93, with a minimum of 22 in the writing section and 22 in the speaking section. The TST TOEFL institution code is 0655 and the department code is 99.
TOEFL paper-based test: 580, with a minimum 5.0 in the Test of Written English (TWE). The TST TOEFL institution code is 0655 and the department code is 99.
