The Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology (IHPST) provides two academic programs: a Master of Arts and a Doctor of Philosophy. IHPST engages in research, delivers advanced study programs, and acts as a hub for university-wide engagement in its discipline. Graduate students from all fields can enroll in courses, which serve as valuable supplements for those specializing in science or humanities. Attendees take part in IHPST colloquia, accessible to the entire University of Toronto community.
The MA program at IHPST is a one-year, coursework-focused degree that can be finished within two terms (September through April). Upon admission, every MA student receives guidance from both a Faculty Advisor and a Graduate Student Mentor.
