The JD/MI dual degree program caters to students seeking to merge advanced education in information studies with legal training. This joint initiative enables participants to earn both qualifications in just four years instead of the usual five. A collaboration between the University of Toronto's Faculty of Law and Faculty of Information, the program culminates in graduates receiving both a Juris Doctor and Master of Information degree upon successful completion.

Applicants must have completed, or must be in the final year of an appropriate four-year bachelor's degree program or its equivalent with at least a mid-B (75%) standing in the final year of that program.
TOEFL: Paper-Based Test and TWE- Overall Score 580 TWE: 5, Internet-Based Test (IBT): 93, Writing/Speaking: 22.
IELTS: Minimum required score: 7.0 (Academic)with at least 6.5 for each component.
