Forensic Science involves analyzing physical evidence within the legal system, essentially applying scientific methods to support judicial processes. This field encompasses various specialties such as Forensic Anthropology, Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology, all united by the common goal of uncovering truth and interpreting evidence for criminal investigations and legal proceedings.
The University of Toronto Mississauga offers Canada's pioneering Forensic Science BSc program, equipping students with comprehensive knowledge of scientific analysis, theories, lab techniques, and practical applications—while enabling specialization in a chosen focus area. Students can opt for either a Forensic Science Major, which requires pairing with a second approved science major, or a Forensic Science Specialist program with dedicated specialization tracks (see options below).
Prospective Forensic Science students MUST complete foundational university-level courses (meeting minimum program requirements) before applying for admission to the program.
