The Caribbean Studies program offers an interdisciplinary undergraduate curriculum exploring the region's history, society, politics, economic growth, literature, and philosophy. Our coursework examines diverse topics such as gender relations, religious practices, cultural expressions, ethnic identities, racial dynamics, developmental challenges, linguistic diversity, colonial legacies, environmental concerns, and regional economic integration. This program fosters both broad theoretical engagement and specialized regional knowledge, enabling students to connect intellectual inquiry with the Caribbean's unique historical, political, economic, geographic, cultural, and linguistic contexts. By blending interdisciplinary methods with regional expertise, the program cultivates analytical skills for examining complex questions through multiple lenses while maintaining strong grounding in Caribbean realities. Studying the Caribbean empowers students to critically examine global structures, contemplate their personal position within them, and appreciate the region's profound intellectual contributions regardless of its geographical scale or political influence - recognizing the fundamental worth and scholarly importance of all societies and peoples.
