The Music Faculty provides two undergraduate programs: the Bachelor of Music (Mus.Bac.) and the Bachelor of Music in Performance (Mus.Bac.Perf.). Performance majors start their specialized training immediately in their first year, while other Bachelor of Music students (excluding those in Music Education - Classical & Jazz, Composition, and Comprehensive Studies Jazz) undergo a Common Year. During this foundational year, they fulfill core requirements while exploring potential specializations in History, Culture, & Theory or Comprehensive Studies. Those aiming for Music Education (Classical) or Composition may choose to delay their specialization until Year 2 after completing the Common Year. All students must complete fundamental music courses covering history, theory, and performance - establishing a shared academic foundation for every program participant.
