The University of Saskatchewan's Music graduate programs offer students the chance to engage in focused individual instruction with accomplished scholars and performing artists specializing in piano, collaborative piano, voice, strings, brass, and woodwinds. Our conducting curriculum emphasizes either choral or instrumental direction, tailored to each student's aspirations. The musicology and theory concentrations primarily explore classical works from the 18th to 20th centuries, with potential for customized study plans approved by our graduate committee. Details regarding the Master of Music in Music Education can be found here.
All programs conclude with a discipline-specific final project, performance, or written thesis. The graduate committee personally designs coursework to enhance each student's primary field of study.
Competitive funding opportunities include merit-based scholarships recognizing exceptional talent and promise, along with teaching assistantships awarded for demonstrated instructional ability.
