The Graduate Program in Kinesiology provides both Master of Science and Doctoral degrees across various specializations such as behavioral studies, biomechanics, skeletal research, exercise physiology, motor skill acquisition, and teaching methodologies.

Students enjoy dedicated office and laboratory facilities, work in a cooperative environment, and can acquire hands-on research and instructional experience while engaging in community projects, volunteer work, and social gatherings. Operating within a research-intensive setting, our students excel in securing Tri-Council funding, publishing frequently, and presenting at prominent conferences, frequently within their initial year of study.

Degree options include M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs focusing on:

Lifespan physical activity and musculoskeletal wellness
Health-focused physical activity research from a social-psychological perspective
Physical health and activity among women and youth
Educational methods in kinesiology

Qualification Requirements

Direct Entry-
A four-year honours bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in an academic discipline relevant to the proposed field of study
Demonstrated ability for independent thought, advanced study, and independent research.
Evidence of research contributions (e.g. normally as published articles, abstracts, conference proceedings).
Language Proficiency Requirements: Proof of English proficiency may be required for international applicants and for applicants whose first language is not English
A cumulative weighted average of at least a 85% (USask grade system equivalent) in the last two years of study (at least 60 credit units of course work)

Non-Direct
Master's degree, or equivalent, from a recognized university in a relevant academic discipline
a cumulative weighted average of at least a 70% (USask grade system equivalent) in the last two years of study (i.e. coursework required in master's program)
